How thick is this fabric?
This fabric is 220gsm. That means for every square metre of the fabric it will weight 220grams. Don’t worry if this doesn’t mean much to you. Cotton Jersey for sewing children’s clothing varies from around 180gsm up to around 260gsm. Sweat fabrics will be heavier but this is the range of most single knit jerseys. Our 220gsm exclusives are a mid weight fabric. This means it wont be see through and doesn’t feel flimsy. It has some drape but wont get overly hot on your child.
How stretchy is is this fabric?
This jersey has 60% horizontal and 60% vertical stretch and great recovery so you can be sure it wont pull out of shape or go floppy after washing. The stretch going in both directions makes it great for kids who move in all directions – often at once!
Is it safe for my baby?
All the Caboodle Textiles exclusive fabrics are Oekotex 100 certified.
The OEKO-TEX® label indicates the fabric has been tested to ensure safety for skin-friendly clothing. It certifies that the fabric is free from potentially harmful substances. This covers the fabric fibres and the dyes used in the printed designs.
Im looking for CL jersey / cotton lycra knit. Is that what this is?
Yes this is a stretch jersey fabric which is made from Cotton and Elastane. Elastane is a recognised brand name but elastane is also the same thing. The fibres are then knitted together to create the fabric. The knitting process means that when you cut this fabric it will not fray at the edges.
I want two metres. Will it come as a continuous piece? I dont want 4 x half metres.
Yes if you order more than one unit the fabric will be cut to the length you require.

If your fabric is still as you received it, clean, pet hair free, unwashed and uncut then it can be returned to us for a refund of the full fabric price. You don’t need to give an explanation for this. If it doesn’t suit your needs then you can return it for any reason. Please contact us to arrange this.
